Venerable Thubten Tenzin has been studying Buddhism in various
forms for over 30 years. In 1996 she met Lama Zopa Rinpoche a world
renowned and respected Tibetan Buddhist Lama. He appointed
Venerable Tenzin director of a Buddhist centre in the Blue Mountains
Australia, a post she held for over 8 years. In that time she received
many teachings and empowerments from highly esteemed teachers of
various lineages and in 2002 took ordination in Sydney from Holy
Venerable Geshe Thubten Dawa.
Since 2002 Venerable Thubten Tenzin has been giving lucid and
down-to-earth instruction into all aspects of the Buddhist path with a
focus on making the teachings available to westerners.
She is abbess to a small community of western monastics who take
teachings on how to be proactive within their community, for the
people in their community, in a similar manner to the catholic Nuns
who taught Venerable Tenzin in her youth.
